Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with 0.99% loss and the index falling 0.93%.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. Ltd. (NS) were the top performers during the session. They rose by 2.72%, or 4.45 points, to close at 168.10. Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (NS:), which added 2.40 points or 19.20 to trade at 820.65, and UPL Ltd. was up 1.77% (or 12.65 points) to 727.30.

These were the worst performers of the session. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NS:) fell 3.95% to trade at 1112.05, or 49.90 points at the close. Hindalco Industries Ltd., NS:) dropped 3.92% (or 19.40 points), to 475.90 IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS) fell 3.14%, or 36.75 point to 1131.85.

BSE Sensex 30’s top performers were HDFC Bank Ltd. (BO) with a rise of 1.24% at 1615.05; Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) was up 0.18% at 7736.65, and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (BO) gained 0.08% at close at 2743.10.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.8% to 1131.50 by late trade, Tata Steel Ltd. [BO:] which dropped 2.81% to settle in 1279.70, and Bajaj Auto Ltd. (“BO:”) which declined 2.39% towards 3771.30 at close.

The India National Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing by 1116, 607, and 40 respectively. However, the Bombay Stock Exchange witnessed 1756 fall and 1369 advance, and 141 ending unchanged.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. shares (NS) reached 52-week highs. This is an increase of 2.72%.

The implied volatility index of the Nifty 50 options was up by 5.70% to 17.3325.

For December delivery, gold futures were down 0.65% to $1749.40 an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.54 percent to $78.39/barrel in November. The December Brent oil contract, however, rose 0.898% to $82.06/barrel.

USD/INR was at 75.032 and 0.66% respectively, but EUR/INR was 0.1% higher at 86.5635.

At 94.398, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.66%.
