Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The added 0.7% is available at Sydney’s close.

Super Retail Group Ltd. (ASX) was the best performer of the session, rising 7.75% or 0.89 to trade at 12.38 by the close. Perenti Global Ltd., (ASX 🙂 increased 7.41% to finish at 0.870. Collins Foods Ltd. was also up 6.93% to 12.81.

Whitehaven Coal Ltd. (ASX) was the worst performer of the session, falling 6.96% (0.250 points) to close at 3.340. Star Entertainment Group Ltd. (ASX) fell 4.15%, or 0.19 point to close at 4.39. Santos Ltd. (ASX) dropped 2.15%, or 0.160 to 7.270.

Stocks that are rising outnumbered those in decline on the Sydney Stock Exchange were 803 to 513, and 422 was unchanged at the close.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 5.73% to 14.581.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.30% to $1767.15 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 1.49 percent or 1.92% to reach $75.94 per barrel in November, and the December Brent oil contract dropped 1.21%, or 0.98, to trade at $80.10 per barrel.

AUD/USD was at 0.7296 by 0.33%, and AUD/JPY was at 81.18 by 0.19%.

At 94.157, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.12%
