Cardano is still not ready to support full dApps
  • The Alonzo updatePromised to provide to the Network support smart contracts and dApp functionality
  • Before full dApps are launched on the Blockchain, three key components of the Cardano Network are missing
  • IOHK will be required to install Plutus Application Backend. dApp connector and ERC-20 Converter.
  • ADA’s momentum is starting to increase, with a gain of more than 8% within the last 24hrs

Cardano Alonzo’s launch caused the biggest buzz in crypto. We felt that Cardano was now ready for smart contracts and dApp functionality. It was an important turning point for Cardano Network.

Cardano dAppStore was launched by the IOHK Team, promising quality assurance. The Cardano dAppStore offers quality assurance by allowing users to rate, vote, and even certify apps. Cardano dAppStore could indicate that Cardano is available for dApps. It is, but are they really ready?

IOHK launches the Cardano dAppStore

Since its launch, Cardano has built a reputation for being an excellent development-driven project, and its dAppStore didn’t disappoint. At the Cardano Summit, September 25th saw the unveiling of the dAppStore.

The Input-Output Hong Kong (IOHK), the development team behind Cardano, created the dApp store to avoid the network’s haphazard and random creation of dApps. According to IOHK, the store was created to aid navigation and, more importantly, act as a “quality assurance” mechanism.

The IOHK states that the shop will carry both uncertified and certified dApps. A certified dApp is subject to a number of testing that will verify it as a protocol. This solves many problems. But does Cardano Network still house dApps now?

Why Isn’t Cardano Launching Any dApps?

Users expected that Alonzo’s launch would spark a new bullish trend for the native token, ADA, given all of the hype. There has been growing dissatisfaction among members of the community. Tweet by @Niccens_Auso – One Twitter user (NYSE:)

Users expected that Alonzo’s launch would spark a new bullish trend for the native token, ADA, given all of the hype. There has been growing dissatisfaction among members of the community. Twitter user @Niccens_Auso posted the following:

Cardano Network is unable to support real or dApps, which causes frustration in the community. Cardano supports smart contract functionality fully, but some toolings needed for dApps aren’t available. These applications can run from a browser through the network.

What is Cardano capable of doing?

Cardano should continue its development excellence, and that is the solution. Cardano must implement these features in order to launch dApps on its network.

  • Plutus Application Backend:To allow dApps interaction with smart contracts on-chain, and to manage the needs of off-chain apps. The PAB version 0.0.1 has been released, but its functionality remains incomplete.
  • dApp connector:Completing the dApp connector allows dApps interaction with wallets. This is still in progress as of October 5. One developer wrote:

“My concern about the PAB connector and DApp connector was that they didn’t mention an estimated date. Are they going to release it in two weeks? Or in three months?” Do I use javascript to develop my app, then upgrade? Or will you release the app now with my js code and it being useless?

  • ERC-20 converter:To allow Eth tokens can be converted to a format that is compatible with Cardano’s blockchain. It is not yet known if it will be launched at the moment of writing.

Flipside

  • Cardano has yet to experience the full dApp functionality. However, ADA is starting to show some promise in the marketplace.
  • Over the past 24 hours, ADA gained over 8% and is now trading at $2.3561

What are the reasons to care?

Cardano is one the largest blockchain projects. It is also expected to continue growing with smart contract. Possibly the network’s full potential will be discovered when dApps become fully operational.
