BERLIN, (Reuters) – German industrial output declined more than was expected due to disruptions in supply chains that have slowed growth in Europe’s largest economy. This data came from official data on Thursday.

After an increase in industrial output of 1.3% in July, the Federal Statistics Office reported that it fell to 4.0% for August. According to Reuters, August’s decline was 0.4%.

In a statement, the Office stated that manufacturers continue to complain about production problems due to shortfalls of intermediate product.
