(Reuters) – IBM (NYSE) announced Thursday that it required all U.S. employees be completely vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than Dec. 8. If they fail to do so, the suspension will not be paid.
These changes are made in light of U.S. president Joe Biden’s order last month for all federal employees and contractors to get vaccinated. There were a few exceptions and private employers employing 100+ workers must also require their workers to have their vaccines or be tested every week.
IBM is a federal contractor and has thousands of U.S. workers.
IBM stated previously that only US employees who have been fully immunized would be allowed to return home. This new policy, however, applies to all U.S. citizens, regardless of whether they are working at home. However, some can claim an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
