New Japan finance minister Suzuki warns against any rapid yen moves By Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters), – Shunichi Suzuki, Japan’s Finance Minister, warned on Thursday that currency fluctuations could be dangerous. The Japanese finance minister said he closely monitored the forex market because the yen had fallen to 18 month lows against USD.

When asked about the weakening yen and the impact it has on Japan’s economy, the new finance minister responded with this comment. After assuming his position on Monday, the new cabinet headed by Prime Minister Fumio Kirshida had given him a group interview.
