Pfizer vaccine for children may be ready by Thanksgiving -White House adviser By Reuters

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) –Pfizer Inc.’s latest vaccine for children five- to eleven years old could be available as soon as November, pending federal regulatory health agency approval Jeffrey Zients, White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients stated on Thursday.

CNN reported that the Food and Drug Administration had scheduled time for the review of the Pfizer/BionTech emergency use application with its advisory panel at October end. This will be followed up by the recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Zients declared that after the authorization was approved, they were ready. We are able to supply the vaccines. We are working with state governments to create convenient areas for kids and parents to receive vaccines, such as pediatricians’ offices or community locations.

Zients was asked if he thinks vaccines can begin prior to the U.S. Thanksgiving Day holiday. He replied that it would depend on the FDA scientific processes and CDC, but yes.
