United Airlines plans over 3,500 domestic flights to tap holiday demand By Reuters

(Reuters) – United Airlines announced Thursday that it will operate over 3,500 domestic flights for December. This is the airline’s largest domestic schedule since before the pandemic. It wants to take advantage of the holiday season surge in demand from those who have not seen their family and friends last year.
According to the U.S. carrier, holiday flight search results on their website had increased by 16% in comparison with 2019.
United stated that new flights would be offered to Las Vegas, from the U.S. Midwest. It also plans to add ski flights from its hub airports to Aspen and other popular destinations.
U.S. Airlines should see a rise in domestic and international demand for holiday flights after President Barack Obama opened America to travelers who have been fully vaccinated from all over the globe.
Brokerage Cowen said earlier this week in a memo that the fourth quarter outlook for U.S. Airlines will reflect a strong peak. It is most likely to be above 2019, as more people plan holiday trips.
