Elon Musk’s SpaceX valuation $100 billion

It is estimated that the value of Elon Musk’sCNBC reports that SpaceX has crossed $100 billion after existing investors sold their shares.

SpaceX has an agreement with new and existing investors to sell up to $755 million in stock from insiders at $560 a share, according to multiple people familiar with the deal – increasing the company’s valuation to $100.3 billion. According to sources, the acquisition offer is a secondary sale, and did not result in new capital.

New share prices represent a 33% increase from the previous price SpaceX’s last valuation of $74 billion at $419.99 a share in FebruaryIn February, the company raised $1.2 billion. In February the company also had another secondary transaction. Insiders were allowed to buy up to $750 millions.

SpaceX’s new valuation makes it one of the rare private “centicorn” or “hectocorn” companies in the world – a $1 billion unicorn, 100 times over. CB Insights reports that Musk’s SpaceX now ranks second in value behind China’s Bytedance. This is just a few steps ahead of Stripe and fintech company Stripe.

CNBC spoke with the people on condition that they remain anonymous because SpaceX was not publicly traded and its financing was private.

CNBC did not reach SpaceX for comment.

SpaceX’s recent fundraising of billions has seen the company’s value soar. These funds will be used to finance two capital-intensive projects: Starship, and Starlink.
