Japan eyes support for chip plant construction with extra budget -Kyodo By Reuters

TOKYO, Reuters – Japan’s government is considering spending hundreds billions of yen in support of the construction of semiconductor factories with a stimulus budget during the current fiscal year. Kyodo News reported Friday.

Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, instructed his Cabinet earlier that day to put together an economic package to alleviate the suffering from the coronavirus epidemic. This was to be funded with an additional budget.
