A significant firefighting response was provided by police and firefighters following an emergency landing at LaGuardia Airport on Saturday afternoon.

Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed that Republic Airlines Flight 4817 arrived safely at Queens Airport around 3:00 p.m. after a “security issue.” The agency confirmed that all passengers had made it off the plane safely.

According to NBC New York, a spokesperson from Port Authority said that the plane made an emergency landing following passengers reporting suspicious behavior. The behavior was not further described.

The spokesperson said that there was “no indication” that any threat is imminent to the plane. Officials were prepared to respond as soon as the plane touched down at the airport by the pilot who called 911.

The FAA reports that Flight 4817 left Indianapolis for LaGuardia.

The responding agencies reported no injuries right away.
