WASHINGTON (Reuters), – U.S. Treasury Secret Janet Yellen indicated that after Congress and White House have agreed on spending plans it would be up to lawmakers to increase federal debt limits.

“Once Congress or the Administration have made spending and tax planning decisions, it is their responsibility to pay any bills that follow that,” Yellen said on ABC’s This Week. This is a household chore. It’s a chore. We need to be debating fiscal policy.
