Gate.io Releases The First 5,000 OpenPunks for NFT Magic Box

Gate.io has launched their OpenPunks NFTs collection, an open-source digital platform that aims to encourage creators and users. On the NFT Magic Box dedicated marketplace, they have officially begun releasing the initial 5,000 OpenPunks NFTs.

“We are always excited to bring new products to market. The first 150 OpenPunks mystery boxes sold out within 2 minutes, indicating users’ increasing appetite for NFTs. Users will be able to pick the OpenPunks they like most based on attributes such as type, role, skin tone and hair colour and purchase the ones with the combination they like best,”
said Marie Tatibouet, Chief Marketing Officer at Gate.io.

Between October 11th to October 20th, the first 5,000 OpenPunks FTs will become available in batches in Mystery Boxes or live Auctions. Different batches of OpenPunks NFTs will unlock daily at 01:00 am (UTC) and 06:00 am (UTC) respectively on Gate.io’s dedicated NFT Magic Box marketplace.

OpenPunks were inspired by Loot. They are an entirely attribute-based NFT series where users can design their own design using the OpenPunks attributes. The attributes include the type, role and skin colour of each NFT. Each badge also includes a rarity badge which allows you to determine how rare it is.

Despite being introduced in 2015, it wasn’t until 2021 that NFTs started going mainstream. DappRadar’s data indicates that global NFT sales topped $10.7 billion during the third quarter of 2021. This is a stunning 704% increase from the prior quarter. The surge in interest in NFTs is the reason for this.

With over $2 billion of NFT trades performed by its users, the most well-known blockchain gaming platform,, has broken records. CryptoPunks is another NFT collection that has been a hit. Other collections like Bored Apes Pudgy Penguins, CovidPunks, and many others continue to thrive.

OpenPunks are a platform that encourages creativity and promotes global NFT growth. OpenPunks allow users to express their creativity while creating, trading and purchasing different OpenPunks.
