(Reuters] – The European Union offered Wednesday to lift the bulk of post-Brexit restrictions on British goods entering Northern Ireland. The Guardian reported Tuesday.

According to the report, up to half of the customs inspections on goods will be removed and over half of the checks on meat and plant entering Northern Ireland would be abandoned.

After David Frost, British Brexit Minister, made a passionate appeal to the European Union Tuesday asking for “significant modification” to post-Brexit regulations governing trade and commerce with Northern Ireland, this news is now official.
