U.S. names veteran diplomat to take over Afghan relocation effort By Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – A. Elizabeth Jones is the new coordinator of efforts to move Afghans from their homeland. The announcement was made by Ned Price, spokesperson.
John Bass (a former Ambassador to Afghanistan) was another long-serving diplomat. He was assigned to Kabul as the point person to coordinate relocations during the chaotic withdrawals of Afghan diplomatic staff.
Price explained that Jones, an ex-assistant secretary of state, and former deputy representative for Afghanistan, and Pakistan will supervise the whole relocation process from facilitation of departures in Afghanistan to their resettlement in the United States.
He said that Ambassador Jones would focus her attention on complex issues related the our efforts to facilitate relocation and resettlement of Afghan citizens to the United States as she assumes these duties.
