China Sept exports rise 28.1% y/y, better than forecast By Reuters

BEIJING (Reuters – China’s September exports grew 28.1% over a previous year, while its imports climbed 17.6%, Customs Data showed Wednesday.

A Reuters poll showed that analysts had predicted exports rising 21% compared to a year ago, after increasing 25.6% in August.

After rising 33.1% last August, imports are expected to increase 20% compared with a year ago.

China reported a $66.76 billion trade surplus in September. This was against the poll’s prediction of a surplus of $46.8B and a surplus surplus $58.34B in August.
