COVID cases dropping in North and South America, regional health agency says By Reuters

BRASILIA, Reuters – While COVID-19 incidences are declining in North America overall, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), said Wednesday that infections are still high in Canada’s Northwest Territories and the American Midwest. In these areas, infection rates are 10x higher than the national average.

South America’s infection rates are dropping, but there are still cases in Caracas, Venezuela and the southernmost parts of Chile. According to PAHO, Barbados has reported the most COVID deaths and cases in the Caribbean since the pandemic began. There have been five-fold increases in COVID incidences over the past month.
