Jeffrey Clark, an ex-Juvenile Department official was subpoenaed Wednesday by the House Select committee that is investigating the Jan. 6, Capitol Riot. This was in response to evidence that Clark attempted to interfere with the Post-Election Transfer of Power to Joe Biden.
Clark, who was previously acting assistant attorney General for the DOJ’s civil division, received subpoenas for documents.
A letter was sent by the committee stating that they have found “credible evidence” Clark tried to use the DOJ to interfere with the peaceful transfer.
Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), Chairman of Select Committee, stated that investigators must know all details regarding efforts by the former administration to derail the certification for 2020 and to spread misinformation about election results.
“We must understand the role of Mr. Clark in the efforts at the Justice Department, and find out who was involved throughout the administration. Thompson stated that the Select Committee expected Mr. Clark’s cooperation in our investigation.
