(Reuters) – Vuori Inc., a California-based manufacturer of sports bras and leggings, has received $400 million from SoftBank Group Corp. The venture capital fund was valued at $4Billion.

Vuori was founded in 2015. It plans to open over 100 U.S. shops in five years.

The demand for activewear has been strong over the last year. People who were unable to leave their homes due to the pandemic have joined the gym to get fit. This led to a spike in sales of everything, from sports shoes to yoga pants.

Vuori noted that SoftBank was one of the biggest investors in an apparel company. It also was the second investor after Norwest Venture Partners in 2019.
