India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.97% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The NSE closed with the index climbing 0.94% and the rising 0.97%.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. were the top performers during the session. These companies rose by 7.09% (53.80 points) to close at 812.80. During the meantime, Wipro Ltd (NS) Added 5.30%, or 35.65 Points to End at 708.25 Grasim Industries Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 4.50%, or 75.45 point to 1752.50

They were also the session’s worst performers Coal India Ltd (NS-), fell 3.29% to trade at 183.80 by the close. Tata Motors Ltd (NS:) fell 1.83%, or 9.30 points, to finish at 497.60 Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS 🙂 fell 1.81%, or 52.55 point to 2853.20.

ITC Ltd. rose 2.89%, to 256.55; HDFC Bank Ltd. was up 2.86%, to settle at 1685.90; and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. gained 2.51% to reach 204.50.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., which fell 1.22% at 3611.30 in late trading, HCL Technologies Ltd. (BO) that lost 1.17% at 1250.90, and Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) were the worst performers at the close.

By 925 to 794, declining stocks outnumbered the advancing ones at the India National Stock Exchange. 54 was unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange however, 1598 declined and 1585 advanced while 117 ended the same.

Wipro Ltd. shares (NS) reached all-time highs with a rise of 5.30%, or 35.65 to 708.55. Shares in Grasim Industries Ltd. NS: rose to new heights. They went up 4.50%, or 75.45 to 1752.50. ITC Ltd. (BO) shares rose by 2.89% to 52 week highs. This is an increase of 7.20 to 254.55 HDFC Bank Ltd. (BO:), shares rose to new 3-year highs, gaining 2.86% (46.65-8685.90). Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. shares (BO) reached 52-week highs. They rose 2.51%, or 5.00 to 204.55.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was lower by 2.07%, to 15.7675.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.30% to $1800.05 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.01 or 1.26% to $81.45 per barrel in November, and the December Brent oil contract rose 1.32 or 1.10 for $84.28 per barrel.

USD/INR fell 0.00% at 75.286 while EUR/INR rose 0.13 to 87.3885.

At 93.858, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.2%.
