Indonesia trade surplus shrinks less than expected in September to $4.37 billion By Reuters

JAKARTA (Reuters – Indonesia’s September trade surplus decreased to $4.37billion, although less than was expected. The country’s statistics office released data on Friday showing that both import and export growth fell below market estimates.

This resource-rich nation recorded an unparalleled trade surplus in August of $4.74 Billion. According to Reuters, September would see a surplus in the region of $3.84 trillion.

The September exports reached $20.60 trillion, an increase by 47.64% over the previous year, according to the poll’s 51.57% annual growth projection. The poll forecasted 50% growth, but imports rose by 40.31% to $16.23 million.
