It’s exciting to draw a picture and sell it as an NFT, but not nearly as much fun as making a 3D NFT piece that you can interact with and add sound and gaming features.

Blockchain isn’t only revolutionizing the financial and business sectors; it’s also beginning to make a real impact on the art industry. GIFs are now some of the most sought-after digital art pieces. These digital tokens are used to secure their ownership in the virtual realm.

The new technology allows for more enjoyable NFTs. In March 2021, the idea for NFT Studio was born. The platform’s founder started programming and building websites. He also found a mentor. The platform was ready to be displayed on the internet in August.

It will become available to anyone who wants 3D NFTs.

Lukas Merville (Canadian, living in Poland) has been working in NFT appraisals.

For curators, he researches NFT artists and performs aesthetic and market analysis. This information is used to help curators decide what pieces they should purchase.

DailyCoin spoke with the creator about his thrilling project, which will be soon launched.

“With this NFT project, I’m able to connect my background in arts with blockchain technology. I started the project alone but found an excellent developer, and we’re working together to build the platform. We are trying to grow the team because it’s small, and the project is getting a lot of interest,”
Merville said.

Advancement:

Merville saw the frustrations of digital 3D artists. Blender creators often complain that they have limited tools such as Cinema 4D and Cinema 4D because they cannot manage the file sizes.

Artists must export images to video. Some 3D NFTs can be looped but not all. Technology must push the limits of NFTs and how many we can create. NFT Studio uses the Internet Computer Blockchain to allow people to create interactive 3D NFTs. Public will receive the same 3D artwork as digital artists who create projects using graphic software.

“People can upload files on the platform. You can sell or transfer the NFT that is stored in your wallet. We’re not artists — we are developers trying to build a nice engine, with examples of what is possible. Images can be turned around. There are sounds and interactions. These 3D objects also have the NFT capabilities. With Ethereum, for example, there’s just an image, jpeg, or mp4. Here, however, it’s possible to create 3D objects, interact and play with them. Last weekend, we discovered that interactive games could be made. That opens doors to a lot of possibilities,”
Merville says.

Merville began to work with the Algorand blockchain platform and Arweave data storage. The project received a grant from the Dfinity Foundation, which immediately saw the project’s value.

NFT Studio works on the Dfinity platform — the only one that enables web assembly in the browser — a requirement for 3D NFTs. Other platforms haven’t reached this point, so currently it will be the only platform that enables users to make interactive NFTs.

“At first, 3D NFTs sounded like fiction — how would that be possible with the current state of technology? Dfinity helped us get it done. With their grant, we were able to finance the development, and we have the minting engine.”

What is the cost of making NFTs online?

NFT Studio has built two tools — one 3D voxel engine and a pixel engine. The process of minting can be slow and costly. To solve this problem, the process needs to be fun, rewarding, and cheap, as no one wants to pay $10-$20 to make an NFT when there’s a possibility that the token you are paying to produce will not be sold. It must be affordable and creative so creators can show others and incite them to make their own NFTs.

It should be less than one dollar to perform an NFT using the ICP. It’s only a few cents with Solana. While we don’t expect it to cost as much as Ethereum, it can be just as inexpensive as Solana. It is necessary to establish a fee system. However, it can’t be completely free because each time a user creates an NFT, storage resources are required. We’re working on our fee system, but it will be less than a dollar to mint an NFT.

In terms of platforms, I don’t have a preference, but I think Dfinity solves the cost, speed, and technology problem.”

NFT Studio’s Partnerships

Initiators of the project want to make the project more accessible to everyone and easy for them to use.

“I mentioned Blender and Cinema 4D — these are companies we want to approach if our platform can be in their software as a plugin. This would allow a large number of 3D artists to get involved in NFT. A gaming tool is also needed. We can create NFTs for games and to tokenize 3D in-game products. Existing games could issue 3D special items people can keep in their wallets. We want many different applications to benefit from the minting engine,”
Merville told DailyCoin.
