Liz Cheney reelection bid gets Democratic donations as she battles Trump

Numerous major Democratic donors and a John Bolton-run political action committee have donated money to Republican Rep. Liz Cheney’s reelection campaign. She has been the primary GOP critic against former President Donald Trump.

Additionally, she has been subject to criticism from her party and was rebuked by them. Now, she will be facing a Trump-supported challenger in the primary election next year.
Team Cheney, Liz Cheney’s fundraising committee received third-quarter donations from Ron Conway and John Pritzker. John Pritzker is a Pritzker descendant. He is the nephew of J.B. Pritzker (the Democratic governor of Illinois) and Penny Pritzker (former U.S. Commerce Secretary).
Conway made the largest contributions to Democrats and contributed to only a few Republican-led causes. One of President Joe Biden’s most important supporters. campaign bundlersThe last election cycle. Pritzker is worth more than $2 billion, and has given repeatedly to Democrats throughout the years.
A new Federal Election Commission filing shows that Conway, Pritzker and more than $20,000 were combined for Cheney’s August committee. Ted Janus is an investor who has mostly given to Democratic candidates and gave Cheney’s Committee just over $10,000 in August.
Conway wrote in an email Friday to CNBC, “I have always supported brave public servants that put the people above partisanship. That is why I’m proud to support Liz Cheney.”
In September, the John Bolton PAC (which is headed by former Trump national security adviser) gave $5,000 to Cheney. Bolton, who has been a harsh critic of Trump ever since Trump’s departure, is now an open opponent.
Bolton was also part of the Ronald Reagan’s, George W. Bush’s governments. Cheney is the child of Dick Cheney (ex-Vice President), who was a former member of the Bush younger administration.
Bolton stated that he strongly supports Liz Cheney’s Reaganite national security views of ‘peace by strength’. He made the statement to CNBC Friday.

Trump has given his endorsement to Harriet Hageman who is an attorney in the battle against Cheney. Politico says that Hageman received contributions from several megadonors in the third quarter, including Timothy Mellon (and Peter Thiel) Hageman was elected to the race in September. according to PoliticoThe campaign has raised over $300,000.00 in its first three weeks.
The combined fundraising effort of Cheney and her husband brought in just over $300,000. The Center for Responsive Politics reports that it helped to raise money for Cheney’s 2022 reelection bid and for her leadership PAC.
According to Cheney’s latest FEC filings, the reelection committee raised $1.7 million alone in the third quarter.
Cheney spokesmen did not reply to requests for comment after publication.
