Sydney to allow quarantine-free international travel for Australians

No longer will fully vaccinated Australians from abroad arriving in Sydney have to be quarantined starting November 1.
Dominic Perrottet (New South Wales Premier) stated that all international travelers vaccinated against the disease could travel without quarantine. He said: “We open Sydney and New South Wales for business.”
However, he was overthrown by Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia. He later stated that the relaxation in entry restrictions at the frontier is only intended for Australian citizens and permanent residents as well as their immediate family.
These people would be allowed leave Sydney to come back to their homes without the need to go through quarantine.
Morrison, who spoke at a briefing following Perrottet’s announcement, stated: “This is about Australian residents & citizens first.”
“The Commonwealth Government hasn’t made decisions to permit other visa holders… to travel to Australia under these arrangements. He said that they are Commonwealth Government decisions, which the premier and I both know.
While the prime minister gave no indication as to Friday whether or not other travelers would experience fewer restrictions at their borders, she said it would take place in a planned and controlled manner.
Re-opening of the border
Australia’s international borders were closed in March 2020 because of the Covid-19 epidemic. The country has been allowing only permanent residents and citizens to travel since March 2020, although they will have to undergo two weeks quarantine.

Reduce restrictions
Perrottet also revealed a variety of restrictions local to vaccinated people as part of the state’s goal to fully immunize 80% of its residents by next weekend.
On Monday, offices will no longer require face masks. The maximum number of visitors a household can receive at one time is 20. Outdoor gatherings are allowed for up to 50.
People who have not been vaccinated would still be subject to restrictions.
Travel between the Greater Sydney area and regional New South Wales will resume starting in November — that is when the state government expects the regional areas to hit the 80% vaccination target, Perrottet said.
