US FTC announces open meeting for next Thursday By Reuters

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Federal Trade Commission will host its next open meeting next Thursday, to address online privacy practices.

Four commissioners will be present to the group on privacy practices by six internet service provider and three advertising associates.

Alvaro Bedoya (Democrat) has been proposed as a fifth commissioner but has not yet been confirmed.

They were not identified. The FTC requested information from U.S. broadband providers in 2019 about the ways they gather, store, and use customer information.

The information was sought from companies such as AT&T (NYSE:)’s advertising subsidiary Appnexus Inc; Verizon (NYSE:) advertising subsidiaries Verizon Online LLC and Oath Americas Inc; as well as Charter Communications Inc (NASDAQ:), is America’s second-largest cable company.
