U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.09% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The NYSE closed with an increase of 1.09%, a new one-month high. Meanwhile, index climbed 0.75% and gained 0.50%.

These were the best performers of the session Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE 🙂 rose 3.80%, or 14.87 points, to trade at 406.07 at the closing. During this time, Visa Inc Class A (NYSE -) added 2.5% or 5.81 points, to reach 230.99 American Express Late trade saw Company (NYSE:), up 2.5% or 4.30 points, to 175.81

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ) was the session’s worst-performing company. They fell 3.64%, or 1.85 point to trade at 48.92 by the end. McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) declined 0.94% or 2.30 points to end at 242.25 and Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 0.72% or 0.40 points to 55.25.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were JB Hunt Transport Services Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 8.74% to 190.55, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:) which was up 6.78% to settle at 48.38 and Halliburton Company (NYSE:) which gained 4.88% to close at 26.01.

These were the worst performers WestRock Co (NYSE 🙂 fell 5.58% at 46.57 in late trading, International Paper (NYSE 🙂 dropped 4.53% to 53.28 Packaging Corp America (NYSE) was at 133.71, down 3.8% from the previous close.

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite LM Funding America Inc (NASDAQ:), which increased 38.08% at 4.750; Waitr Holdings Inc, (NASDAQ:), which was up 38.86% at 1.4200; Jasper Therapeutics Inc, (NASDAQ:), which gained 31.57% at 16.420.

These were the worst performers Duck Creek Technologies Inc (NASDAQ.) fell 24.42% to 34.994 in late-trade, but Very Good Food Company Inc. (NASDAQ.) lost 21.40% to settle for 1.80 Lucid Diagnostics Inc (NASDAQ :), down 20.49% at 9.35 at close.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advanced ones by 0:0.

JB Hunt Transport Services Inc. shares (NASDAQ) reached all-time highs of 8.74%, or 15.31 to 190.55. Halliburton Company shares (NYSE:), rose to 52 week highs, gaining 4.88% (1.21 to 26.1). Duck Creek Technologies Inc (NASDAQ) shares fell to their lowest levels ever, falling 24.42 percent or 11.29 to 34.94. Jasper Therapeutics Inc.(NASDAQ:) shares rose to record highs. They increased 31.57%, or 3.940 to 16.420. Lucid Diagnostics Inc. (NASDAQ:), shares fell 20.49%, or 2.41 to 935.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 3.32% to 16.30 a new 1-month low.

Dec delivery gold futures were down 1.65%, or 29.70, to $1768.20 an troy ounce. In commodities trading, Crude Oil for Delivery in December was unchanged at 0.00% to $81.73 per barrel. The December Brent Oil contract increased 1.00% to $84.84 per barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.6% at 1.1601, USD/JPY rose 5.1% at 114.25

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.00% at 92.996.
