Volkswagen’s Skoda Auto halts production for two weeks, CTK reports By Reuters

PRAGUE, Reuters – Volkswagen’s Skoda auto (DE:), went down for two weeks Monday due to a global shortage of components. The CTK news agency stated that the Skoda Auto was experiencing a temporary outage.

Skoda hopes to repair 10,000 of the unfinished vehicles during this outage. CTK reported that only one line will be operational.

Skoda (the Czech Republic’s largest exporter) stated on Oct. 7, that due to the worldwide shortage of chips, it will “significantly reduce, or even stop” production between Oct. 18 and the end of this year.
