(Reuters) – Donald Trump, the former US President has declared his return to digital media with plans to launch his own social networking app. He promises that he will “stand up against Big Tech” following his expulsion from all major platforms.

TRUTH Social is the app that will be created by TRUTH Media and Technology Group, according to their Wednesday press release.

This venture could be the first true test of the power and reach of right-wing social networks with Trump’s full support. There are still questions about its plans for making money, and how they plan to avoid facing the same problems as led. Twitter Inc (NYSE:). Facebook Inc (NASDAQ) and Alphabet(NASDAQ:) Inc’s YouTube ban or suspension.

This is a brief explanation about Trump’s business venture.

What’s the purpose of Trump Media and Technology Group?

In a presentation made to investors, TMTG’s backers stated that the venture aspires create a media powerhouse “to rival the liberal media consortium” as well as “fight back against Silicon Valley’s Big Tech companies.” Trump attacked major media outlets and called journalists “the enemy” while he was president.

It stated that it wanted to establish a global “non-cancellable community” which would include a social media platform as well as a streaming service and news division. The goal is to be able to face established competitors in these categories such as CNN, Disney+, CNN, Google Cloud. The company said that TMTG+, a streaming service promises news, big-tent entertainments, thrilling documentaries, and sports programming.

They haven’t provided a roadmap for revenue generation and pricing.

How does SPACs function?

SPACs can be shell companies which raise capital in an IPO and merge with a private company. The company then goes public. Companies have found SPACs to be a great alternative to IPOs. They offer a way for them get public without the need for regulatory oversight and greater certainty about their valuation.

When the merger is expected to close, shareholders of Digital World Acquisition Corp (SPAC) will be asked if they would like to redeem shares at their IPO values. They will reduce the cash available for Trump’s company of $293 million if they choose to do so.

What is TMTG’s chance of success?

Trump gained a huge social media following, before he was permanently blocked from Twitter and banned by Facebook. With 88.7million followers, his Twitter handle @realdonaldtrump Trump’s online popularity has been abysmal since he left office in January. His blog, “From Donald J. Trump’s Desk”, was shut down after only 29 days.

Some other conservative online businesses have also failed to reach large audiences.

Sensor Tower says Gettr was launched by Jason Miller in July as a social media platform.

TMTG is well-funded and has a good track record.

If TMTG is a major source of violence, it might have trouble finding a web hosting provider. Parler, an app that was backed by Rebekah Mercer, a prominent Republican Party donor, became unavailable for around a month following Amazon.com Inc’s (NASDAQ:) suspension of web hosting services. This happened after Trump supporters staged riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Parler was also taken out of Google’s app store. Parler went online again in February thanks to SkySilk’s private cloud infrastructure SkySilk from Los Angeles.

Sensor Tower says that Parler’s return to online has resulted in a little more 100,000 installations.
