Former U.S. president Donald Trump launches new social media platform -Breaking

LOS ANGELES (Reuters] – Trump, the former President of the United States, will create his own social media company, TRUE Social. Trump said that TRUTH Social would be able to “stand up” to Big Tech companies, such as Facebook (NASDAQ:), and Twitter (NYSE.:), that had barred Trump from using their platforms.

TRUTH Social will be created through a new company formed by a merger of the Trump Media and Technology Group and a special acquisition company, according to a press release https://www.tmtgcorp.com/press-releases/announcement-10-20-2021 distributed by both organizations.

“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. Trump declared that it was “inacceptable.”

“I’m excited to share my first TRUTH with TRUTH social very soon. TMTG was created with the goal of providing a platform for all. “I’m thrilled to begin soon sharing my thoughts and fighting back against Big Tech,” said he.

Trump’s representative declined to confirm the news release from TMTG to Reuters. Liz Harrington (Trump spokesperson) also tweeted a copy.

The release states that Trump Media and Technology Group and Digital World Acquisition Corp. will merge to form a publicly traded company, if approval is granted by stockholders and regulators.

The deal values Trump Media & Technology Group at $875 million, including debt, according to the statement. Trump Media & Technology Group’s growth plans initially will be funded by DWAC’s cash in trust of $293 million.

TRUTH Social will host a Beta Launch in November for invited guests, with a national rollout starting in the first quarter 2022.

New plans are also in place for subscription video-on–demand services that will include entertainment programming, news, as well as podcasts.
