LONDON (Reuters] – The 95-year old Queen Elizabeth was admitted to hospital by royal officers for “preliminary investigation”. However, the queen is now back in her Windsor Castle residence and in good spirits.
On Wednesday, the oldest and longest-serving monarch in history cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland. The palace stated that the Queen had been advised to rest by her medical staff and that it was unrelated to COVID-19.
The palace released a statement Thursday saying that the queen had been advised by doctors to rest for several days.
The source claimed that the queen was at King Edward VII in central London because of practical reasons, and that the Queen’s medical team took a prudent approach.
The source claimed that Elizabeth, queen of 15 other realms, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand was back at work Thursday afternoon, and she had begun some light tasks.
After Prime Minister Boris Johnson hosted a green investment conference in preparation for the COP26 summit, she had spent Tuesday evening hosting a Windsor drinks reception for Bill Gates and other billionaire business leaders.
The queen was in great health and smiled happily when she received her guests.
Next year marks 70 years of her reign as head of state. She is well-known for her strong health. She was suffering from gastroenteritis symptoms when she spent the night at home in 2013.
2018 saw her undergo successful eye surgery. In 2003, she also underwent knee operations. But royal officials don’t like to speak out about medical issues, as they consider them private.
Prince Philip, her husband for over seventy-years, was killed at Windsor Castle in April.
She has continued to perform her official functions, even though she is older and has given more responsibility to Prince Charles and the other royal family members.
She was seen in public using her walking stick to support herself earlier this month for the first-time since she had undergone a knee surgery.
TURBULENT TIMES
Elizabeth’s long reign was not without its turbulent moments. The last few years were particularly hard for her family as well as Elizabeth.
Her husband of 25 years, Prince Andrew, has been lost. He was her “strength & stay,” and she has also had to resign from her royal duties due to her links to Jeffrey Epstein (the late U.S. financier) and allegations that he committed sex crime.
Prince Harry, her grandson, and Meghan, his American wife have both resigned from their royal duties in order to relocate to Los Angeles. They previously attacked Buckingham Palace with barbed wire.
The polls indicate that Elizabeth is still highly respected in Britain and popular despite the setbacks. She was elected to the throne as Britain’s symbol of stability, in 1952, when Britain had lost its imperial power.
She has been admired for her unfailing devotion to the duties and honor of the queenship even as an old lady. This is even with republicans, who want to eliminate the institution.
She will be welcoming world leaders to the United Nations Climate Change Summit in Glasgow at the close of May, her next significant engagement.
