(Reuters] – Enes Kanter, a Boston Celtics centre posted a Friday video denouncing China’s human rights record with regard to Uyghurs as well as other Muslim minorities.

This video is two days after Kanter (who has a history in activism and spoke out against Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdan) condemned China’s treatment of Tibet. The backlash in China was L1N2RH0K2.

“Heartless dictator of China XI JINPING, and the Communist Party of China. You are being called out by the entire world. “Close down the SLAVE labor camps. Free the UYGHUR people! Kanter tweeted (NYSE:). Stop the GENOCIDE now!

Chinese officials have been accused by the Uyghurs, and other predominantly Muslim minorities of being detained in camps around one million Uyghurs since 2016 for facilitating forced labor.

China claims it is innocent of wrongdoing and has established vocational training centers to fight extremism.

Kanter posted the following tweet: “It’s disappointing that the leaders and governments of Muslim majority nations are remaining silent while I am being killed, sexually raped or tortured.” The video was uploaded hours before the Celtics’ home opener with the Toronto Raptors.

Kanter (29 years old) was attacked on Chinese social media. His name appears to have been blocked by Weibo (NASDAQ.:) messaging service.

China’s Tencent Holdings Ltd platform did not include highlights from the Celtics on Thursday.

After Kanter’s critique of China’s treatment Tibet, the United States expressed concern Friday about China’s actions towards the National Basketball Association.

In an email, the spokesperson for the State Department stated that the United States was deeply troubled by actions taken against the National Basketball Association in response to statements made by one of its players regarding Tibet.

The NBA and Celtics didn’t immediately reply to my request for comment.
