(Reuters) – Hollywood’s most prominent news source, Alec Baldwin, shot Halyna Hutchins in the head while firing a prop gun at her on set of “Rust,” a movie about New Mexico.

Alec Baldwin

There are not enough words to describe my grief and sorrow at the death of Halyna Houtchins, Halyna’s wife, mother, and greatly admired colleague. Baldwin shared the following Instagram post: “I’m fully cooperating in the police investigation into how this tragedy occurred.”

“I’m in touch with her husband to offer my support and love.” Baldwin expressed his sorrow for Baldwin and her husband.

Stephen Baldwin

The younger brother who acts, directs, and produces films posted the following message on Instagram: “Asking you for your prayers tonight, friends. Not much else can be said except that please pray for everyone involved in the aftermath of this tragic accident.”

Kay Oyegun

Oyegun shared the following tweet: “My first gig in directing was with Halyna Hutchins.” Oyegun was a producer on “A Luv Tale,” an animated TV miniseries. “She was such a calm presence, and she had a great creative spark… She loved her son and her work.” It is truly heartbreaking.

“I’m in shock,” tweeted the actor who worked on “Archenemy” with Hutchins. “I can’t believe this could happen in this day and age… gunfire from a prop gun could kill a crew member? This is a terrible tragedy.

The sister to Brandon Lee wrote, “Our heart goes out to the family Halyna Hutchins” and “Joel Souza,” tweeting that she was in shock after her brother, an actor, used a pistol loaded with blanks with a piece of projectile from earlier uses to kill him. Shannon Lee (NYSE;) manages her brother’s Twitter account. She said: “Noone should ever die from a gun on film sets.” No.

James Gunn

Brandon passed away, so the rules were modified,” the director tweeted. His credits also include the “Guardians of the Galaxy.” franchise. “Unfortunately, rules alone won’t make things easier. That is how most accidents on-set happen.

“Producers, directors, actors & entire crews need to be hardcore about making sure all safety protocols are followed at all times… My heart goes out to all of those affected by the tragedy today on Rust, especially Halyna Hutchins & her family.”
