WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen declined to comment on Sunday about whether or not she supports the renomination Jerome Powell’s Federal Reserve Chairmanship. However, she said that regulation of financial institutions was strengthened by Powell and his predecessors.

Yellen indicated that she will not talk about the advice she had given President Joe Biden. On CNN’s “State of the Union”, she stated, “I would tell him that during his term, as well (Ben) Bernanke’s term), regulation of financial institution has been markedly enhanced.”
