Investing.com — Shares rose Monday, as investors prepared to receive a torrent of corporate earnings reports.

The United Nations Climate Conference in Glasgow (Scotland) this weekend continues to see energy prices rise. On Monday, oil prices reached multi-year records again. Producers are slowly increasing their supply and reopening countries demand more fuel.
This week more than one-third of the S&P 500 will report earnings, starting off Monday evening with Facebook. Following Snap Inc (NYSE:)’s earnings report last week, investors are worried that Facebook’s ad revenue will be hit by changes in privacy rules for Apple (NASDAQ:) device users, who now have to opt-in to see targeted ads from social media apps.
So far so good this earnings season. Reuters reported that analysts expect S&P 500 earnings to rise 34.8% from the same period last year, citing data from Refinitiv.
Investors want to know how management handles supply chain challenges and increasing material costs. Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a maker of household papers products, has cut its profit outlook this year due to higher costs.
Three things could impact the markets in tomorrow’s future:
1. Earnings at Facebook
Facebook Inc After Monday’s closing bell, (NASDAQ:), will release its third quarter numbers. According to Investing.com analysts, the social media company is expected to report a revenue of $29.58 trillion and a profit per share at $3.19.
2. Google earnings
Google-parent Alphabet (NASDAQ:) Inc Class C (NASDAQ:)’s third-quarter revenue is seen at $63.47 with profit per share coming in at $23.75. After the closing bell, it reports Tuesday.
3. Microsoft shares
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ) expects to post a $43.93 first quarter revenue and $2.07 earnings per share. Also, it reports Tuesday.
