Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The Sydney close saw the stock rise 0.34%, reaching a new one-month high.

Mineral Resources Ltd., which gained 8.96% (or 3.53 points) to trade at 42.91 by the close of trading on the session were the top performers. Beach Energy Ltd. (ASX) gained 5.07%, or 0.070 point to close at 1.450. Ramelius Resources Late trade saw Ltd (ASX) rise 4.85%, or 0.075 point to 1.620

Perpetual Ltd., which lost 5.18% (or 2.12 points) to trade at 38.83 by the end of the session was among the worst. Kogan.com Ltd. (ASX) fell 5.04%, or 0.56 point to close at 10.55 Nanosonics Ltd (ASX) fell 4.14%, or 0.24 points, to 5.56

The Sydney Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 731, 670 and 374 respectively.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was up 0.13 percent or 2.25 to $1798.55 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.60 percent to reach $84.36/barrel, and January Brent oil, which rose 0.59 percent to trade at $85.23.

The AUD/USD rose 0.4% to 0.7499 while the AUD/JPY went up 0.66% at 85.25.

At 93.493, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.14%.
