Blackstone’s co-head of hedge fund unit McCormick to leave firm-sources -Breaking

BOSTON (Reuters), John McCormick, who led Blackstone Group (NYSE)’s $81 Billion Hedge Fund Unit since 2018, has plans to retire from the firm according to two sources.

Blackstone is the largest hedge fund investor in the world and supports new funds. It also invests with hedge funds, purchases majority stakes and provides internal hedge funds for clients such as pension funds or foreign governments.

Blackstone representatives did not respond immediately to our request for comment.
