Fed to hold conferences in November focused on diversity and inclusion -Breaking

(Reuters) – The Federal Reserve announced Monday that it will host a number of diversity and inclusive conferences focused on the experiences of underrepresented groups in finance, economics, and general economy.

November 8th will be the first conference. It will discuss how gender influences economic and financial results.

This second conference on November 9 will highlight research about diversity and inclusion in financial, economic, and central banking. There will also be a panel discussion with current and former central banks officials. The event will be hosted by the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England in collaboration with the European Central Bank. It will feature a panel discussion with former and current central bank officials.

According to the central bank, Jerome Powell, Fed chair will make opening remarks at each event. It is unclear if Powell will be nominated for a second term as Fed Chair, as it remains to be seen.
