Mastercard, a major credit card company (NYSE:), has revealed that it will be integrating cryptocurrencies in its loyalty programs for US-based merchants, banks and fintech companies on its payment network.
Mastercard announced Monday that it will be discontinuing its business. It would partner with Bakkt, a digital asset platform that allows customers located in America to purchase, sell, and hold digital assets via custodial wallets. Cardholders will be able to use loyalty points or accrue tokens, and earn rewards in cryptocurrency.
