Microsoft Earnings, Revenue Beat in Q1 -Breaking

Microsoft (NASDAQ:), Investing.com and Microsoft reported Tuesday the results of their first quarter. They beat analysts’ estimates, with revenue exceeding expectations.

Microsoft reported earnings per share at $2.27 on revenues of $45.32B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $2.07 for revenue $43.93B.

Microsoft shares rose 39% over the first of the year but are down 0.77% from October 26’s 52-week peak of $312.39. They outperform the Dow Jones, which has risen 16.83% over the same period.

Microsoft shares were down 0.14% during after-hours trading following the release.

Microsoft is following other important earnings in the Information Technology sector this month

Microsoft reports on the earnings matching by IBM, which reported EPS in excess of $2.52 for revenue $17.62B. This compares to IBM forecasts of EPS in excess of $2.52 for revenue $17.79B.

Micron exceeded expectations by beating forecasts on September 28, with fourth-quarter EPS of 2.42 on revenue $8.27B. This compares to the expected EPS for revenue $8.23B of $2.33.
