REUTERS/Lindsey Wasson/File PhotographWARSAW, (Reuters) – The Polish National Airline PLL LOT filed a suit against Boeing (NYSE) at a Seattle court. This lawsuit was brought by Boeing because of design defects in the 737 MAX planes that resulted in their grounding. State news agency PAP reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources.
LOT demands compensation in excess of 1 Billion Zlotys (252.76 Million).
PAP reported that negotiations for settlement were ongoing for months before the suit was filed. These talks did not produce an agreement.
Krzysztof MOCZULski, spokesperson for Lot, confirmed that a lawsuit had been filed to Reuters but didn’t provide additional details.
Two fatal accidents in 2018 caused the grounded of 737 MAX planes worldwide.
