Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index lost 0.74% at the close of NYSE. However, it fell 0.51% and gained 0.02%.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ) was the best performer of the session, rising 4.21% or 13.06 point to close at 323.17. Meanwhile, McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) added 2.67% or 6.31 points to end at 242.73 and Coca-Cola Co Late trade saw a 1.93% increase or 1.05 point to 55.52 (NYSE:).

These were the worst performers of the session. Visa Inc The Class A (NYSE 🙂 fell 6.92%, or 16.04 points, to close at 215.78. Dow Inc (NYSE 🙂 fell 4.62%, or 2.71 points, to close at 56.00. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc NASDAQ: was down 2.46% (or 1.19 points) to 47.12.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Juniper Networks Inc (NYSE:) The stock rose 8.48%, to 29.82 F5 Networks Inc (NASDAQ:) The stock was up 5.94%, to settle at 21.02 Xilinx Inc (NASDAQ) Which gained 5.22% and closed at 180.85

These were the worst performers Rollins Inc (NYSE:), which fell 10.81% to $35.08 in late trading Twitter Inc (NYSE:), which dropped 10.78% and settled at 54.81 Fiserv Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 10.02% to close at 98.83

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Siyata Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 82.70% to 5.280, China XD Plastics Company Limited (NASDAQ) was up 58.97%, to settle at 9900 and AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd (NASDAQ:), which saw a 46.76% increase to end at 3.17

These were the worst performers Cortexyme Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 76.58% to 13.51 during late trade Inspira Technologies Oxy BHN Ltd (NASDAQ) lost 58.29% and settled at 4.00, while Bimi International Medical Inc was at 0.9400.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 2374, 862, and 107 ending unchanged.

Juniper Networks Inc (NYSE) shares rose to 52-week peak levels; an 8.48% increase or 2.33 to 29,82. F5 Networks Inc. (NASDAQ:), shares rose to new highs, rising 5.94% (12.12 to 212). Xilinx Inc shares (NASDAQ:), rose to new highs, up 5.22% (8.97 to 180.85). Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ) shares rose to new highs, up 4.21% (13.6 to 323.17). Cortexyme, Inc. (NASDAQ) shares fell to their lowest levels ever; 76.58% or 44.17 – 13.51

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 6.26% to 16.98.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.28% to $1798.35 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil delivery for December dropped 3.00%, or 2.54, to $82.11 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract, however, fell 2.60 percent or 2.23, to trade at $83.42 per barrel.

EUR/USD increased 0.05% at 1.1601 while USD/JPY declined 0.25% at 113.86.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.6% at 93.882.
