Uber stated that the agreement is an important step towards its zero emission goal. It will also offer drivers a means to boost earnings and save on fuel costs.
Drivers can now rent 2021 Tesla Model 3 cars from Hertz starting Monday in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Washington, DC. In the coming weeks, it will be expanded nationwide.
According to the company, Tesla rental rates will begin at $334 per week (excl. taxes and fees), but prices will drop to $299 over time. Initial requirements for drivers include a minimum of 150 trips and a rating of at least 4.7 stars.
