Already the IPO market had its busiest ever year in 2000 after the burst of the internet, and this fall is likely to surpass that record. Renaissance Capital has released a report that estimates around 90 to 110 initial public offering are planned in the next four-months. That would put 2021 on pace for approximately 375 deals totalling $125 billion. CNBC reported,
If that happens, 2021 would be the most capital-raising year and it would also make the year busiest in terms of deal counts since 2000.

Although many consumer brands have yet to file formal filings, there is a good chance that they will go public in the coming year. There are many tech firms, such as Toast, a digital payment processor. Stripe, the Mobil Payments Processor is another candidate. Numerous crypto-related firms, such as Stronghold Digital Mining and alternative energy crypto miner Stronghold Digital Mining have already filed for public disclosure. TPG, a global asset manager, and Republic Airways (a local airline) are other potential candidates. Rivian Automotive is an electric vehicle manufacturer that makes electric vehicles/SUVs. It has reportedly also filed for public disclosure.
Esports also joined the fray. Esports Technologies, Inc., a tech company that develops and operates platforms for esports, was founded earlier this year. Following the pricing of 2,400,000 shares of common stock at $6.00 per share, Esports Technologies Inc. opened trading at $21 on April 15, 2021. After reaching an intra-day high price of $35.87 shares, they closed at $24.59. And its not just traditional IPOs that have been active, but SPAC’s have also done well in the market. CNBC also added
“Breaking every SPAC record, 415 blank check companies raised $109 Billion in 2021. 310 additional special purpose acquisitions companies are currently in file to raise more than $70 Billion.”

SPAC Research reports that 486 SPACs were launched in the U.S. by 2021. They raised $135.8 Billion in this process. In comparison, the U.S. had 247 SPACs, which raised $83.4 billion a year earlier.
