PARIS (Reuters) – Europe’s Airbus raised full-year financial targets after a narrower-than-expected dip in third-quarter profits, and stuck to a goal of delivering 600 jetliners this year after driving down costs during the pandemic.

As revenues fell 6%, the world’s biggest commercial planemaker suffered a 19% decrease in operating profit for its third quarter to 666 millions euros ($772.7million).

According to the company, it expects full-year operating income of 4.5 Billion Euros and cashflow free of charge of 2.5 Billion. These are higher targets than previous ones of 4 and 2 billion.

Airbus delayed planned production increases following a week when several aerospace companies warned about supply shortages. However, Airbus rounded up its main A320 family narrowbody production goal to 65 per month by summer 2023. This was slightly later than expected.

Airbus stated in May it had asked suppliers for a fixed rate of 64 per calendar month, by the end of second-quarter 2023.
