BERKELEY (Reuters) – Hertz (PK) stated that it will provide Uber (NYSE) 150,000 Tesla (NASDAQ) cars over the next three-years, increasing from a initial fleet of 50,000 vehicles.

Hertz will provide up to 50,000 cars to Uber drivers exclusively by 2023 to kick start the program. Hertz made the following statement to Reuters: “If the program is successful, it could grow to 150,000 Teslas in the next 3 years.”

Hertz stated that “these ambitions may be affected by factors beyond its control, such semiconductor chip shortages and other constraints.”
