How Supply Chain Challenges and Inflation Will Impact the Stock Market -Breaking
[ad_1]
Inflation is one of the most prominent themes in the last few months. As earnings reports keep coming in, it is a key theme. The biggest question ahead of earnings season was about how inflation and supply chain problems would impact corporate margins. It is not clear yet. But should we be concerned with inflation and its effect on the S&P 500 (SPY) going forward? I’ll discuss this and more below….This is an updated version of my weekly comment published in the October 27th, 2021 POWR Value newsletter.
Inflation is a concern as markets reach new heights. Inflation was predicted by many market “gurus”, last year. It is now a fact. It may not last for long, but I expect it will.
Now, the question is: How long will transitory last? Fed Chair Powell even suggested recently that inflation could be stickingier than initially forecasted. He recently stated that “supply-side constraints are getting worse.” These risks now include longer, more persistent bottlenecks that will lead to increased inflation.
