Bloomberg reported that C-Coins are offered to the retail giant’s 80,000 employees during the testing. It can then be used for payment at the many restaurants and shopping centers that are part of the company umbrella.
According to the head of the innovative office at Central Tech, Kowin Kulruchakorn, part of the company’s plan is to issue the coin to average citizens once the company’s staffers adopt C-Coin and the company gains substantial information about how it would fare in the real world.
Kowin said in an interview that C-Coin might be able to expand its target market within the network of retail giants and issue it to customers and partners.
Before releasing the C-coin to the general public, the team wants to make sure that there are no problems with it. Kowin said that the digital asset could be made publicly available on an exchange and traded once the final decision has been made. Kowin also thinks that C-Coin holds great potential for future uses.
