U.S. lawmaker to issue subpoenas to oil firms for documents on climate -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney announced on Thursday that she plans to subpoena four large oil companies for information about the statements of their scientists regarding climate change, as well as any funds they have provided to deceive the public.

Maloney made this comment at the close of a House hearing regarding climate disinformation. Exxon Mobil (NYSE) Shell (LON) Oil, BP America (NYSE) Chevron (NYSE:

Maloney added that it was necessary to “get to the bottom” of the disinformation campaign by the oil industry using subpoenas. She also said she has draft subpoenas.
