Europe shares down as tech slips on downbeat Apple, Amazon results -Breaking

(Reuters] – European equities were pushed lower by technology stocks on Friday, as European suppliers dropped after Apple’s negative holiday quarter forecast. However, investors remain nervous about the outlook for monetary policy.
STMicronelectronics (OTC) Technologies, AMS and ASML shares lost 1.1% to 2%. This was due to supply chain problems that caused Apple Inc (NASDAQ) to lose $6 billion each quarter.
Europe’s tech index dropped 1.3% and the pan-European fell 0.5% as global investors became nervous after the disappointing earnings update from Wall Street’s tech titans, along with persistent inflation fears. [.N]
Craig Erlam an OANDA analyst stated, “We will continue to witness this two-way price movement in the markets. This is driven by a clash of strong earnings, optimism over the economy outlook, contrast with risks from higher inflation, rates, and fuel prices.”
Daten showed the French and Italian economies were growing at a faster pace than was expected during the third quarter. Meanwhile, German output has been hampered due to a lack of supplies.
Christine Lagarde (ECB President) disappointed the market on Thursday by not rebutting recent moves made in markets that are pricing in rate increases of up to 2% per month for December 2022.
After September losses, the STOXX 600’s earnings were strong and it is now on track to post its fourth consecutive week of weekly gains. STOXX 600 will also be enjoying its strongest month since March.
Daimler, a premium German automaker (OTC) gained 0.9% following a better quarterly profit. This was despite the 30% decline in Mercedes-Benz sales because of the chip crisis.
EssilorLuxottica, a luxury eyewear brand, also increased 1.4%. The company raised its 2021 guidance. It said that sales were still above their pre-pandemic peak in the third quarter.
French Aerospace Group Safran After raising its cashflow targets for the full year, (PA:), rose 2.9%. Swiss Re (OTC) gained 2.6%. Re-insurer Swiss Re reported strong net profits as it recovered from the pandemic.
The profit of Natwest in Britain fell by 4.3%, despite it posting an increase in profits for the third quarter.
