Lawyer for Cuomo serves preservation of evidence notice to Apple

Rita Glavin was Rita Glavin’s lawyer. Andrew Cuomo served a notice to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple Sr. Saturday in order to keep “everything” relating to the investigation into the Democrat.

Cuomo was charged ThursdayWith a misdemeanor sexual-crime complaint that he had forcibly touched an unidentified woman in December last year. This complaint was filed two months after the departure of the governor resigned in disgrace following accusations of sexual harassment by nearly a dozen women were made against him that were detailed in a report issued by state Attorney General Letitia James. Apple’s FBI investigator signed Cuomo’s criminal complaint.

Rich Azzopardi released a statement on Saturday, saying that the Governor had been clear in denigrating these claims since Day 1. “Neither Sheriff Apple, Tish James, or any Albany politician have any evidence to support this assertion.” To be precise, there is not any corroborating evidence to the governor’s claim that it didn’t happen.

“What happened was an obvious abuse of power by Sheriff, and we intend to find the root cause.”

Glavin and Apple’s offices did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Glavin requests that Apple’s Office preserve all documents between it and Brittany Commisso (an ex-assistant to Cuomo). publicly identified herself as the staffer Apple’s investigators were told by the woman that Cuomo had assaulted and grabbed her breasts at Executive Mansion. Also, records from her lawyer.

Additionally, she is asking that the office keep all communications between it and the press and with other legislators and officials.

James’ report, issued in AugustInvestigators concluded that Cuomo sexually harassed at minimum 11 staffers, both current and past. According to the report, Cuomo was reported as having touched and inappropriately commented on women.

Apple told reporters FridayCuomo is the victim of “an overwhelming number” of allegations. In the case, Cuomo is scheduled to appear before the court on Nov. 17.
